Welcome to FarmKeeper.au, the website for the Keeper v3.0 product. Keeper v3.0 is an autonomous monitoring and control system that uses LoRa (Long Range) wireless technology in the 915 MHz ISM band. Our product is primarily intended for use in Australia and New Zealand, though it may be used in other regions where local regulations permit compatible LoRa operation. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information in connection with our website and product. We are committed to user privacy and adhere to privacy-friendly practices. We comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Australian Privacy Principles, and we strive to meet general global privacy standards. By using our website or product, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
We value your privacy. No account registration or user login is required to use the Keeper v3.0 product or the FarmKeeper.au website. We do not directly collect personal information such as your name, address, phone number, or email when you use our site or device. In other words, we do not ask you to provide any personal data in order to browse the website or operate the product. We do not knowingly collect personal information from users, and we do not create profiles of individual visitors. If you choose to contact us (for example, via email or a contact form), we will only use the personal details you provide (such as your email address) to respond to your inquiry and not for any other purpose. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal details with third parties for marketing purposes.
Although we do not collect personal data directly, we do gather certain non-personal usage information when you interact with our website. This is primarily done through cookies and similar technologies for the purpose of understanding how our site is used and improving our content.
A “cookie” is a small text file placed on your device that helps the site remember your preferences or track visits to the site. The only cookies in use on FarmKeeper.au are those related to analytics (described below) and any that are strictly necessary for the site to function (for example, to remember if you’ve seen a notification).
We want to better understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it. For this purpose, we use Google Analytics, a popular web analytics service provided by Google. Google Analytics allows us to track where visitors come from and how they interact with our site.
This helps us see, for example, which pages are most popular or how users navigate through our content. Importantly, we use this information in aggregate form – we look at trends among all users, not at individual users.
Google Analytics works by using cookies and scripts to collect information about your visit. The information it collects may include:
This usage data collected through Google Analytics does not include your name, contact information, or other directly identifying personal details – it is largely technical information about your visit. We do not combine analytics information with any personal information you may optionally provide in other communications. All analytics data is used in an aggregated manner to analyze site usage.
The data collected via Google Analytics is used strictly for improving our website and services. For example, we look at aggregated trends to see which content is most popular or whether certain pages are difficult to navigate. This helps us make informed decisions on updating content, improving user experience, and adding features.
The analytics data may also help us detect technical issues (like broken links or slow pages) so we can fix them. We do not use Google Analytics data to track or profile individual users, and we do not allow Google Analytics to use our data for its own advertising or sharing purposes. In fact, we have configured Google Analytics with the most privacy-friendly settings available, including IP anonymization.
By using Google Analytics, we do involve a third-party service (Google) in processing some usage data, as described here. We want to be transparent that Google will be collecting and processing this usage information on our behalf. Other than Google Analytics, we do not share your data with any other third-party companies, except as required by law (which is addressed in a later section).
Google Analytics itself is bound by Google’s privacy policies. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize ads within its own advertising network, but we have not enabled any advertising features in our implementation of Google Analytics. We also do not send Google any personal information like names or emails (and we do not collect those anyway, as noted). Google Analytics uses the data strictly to provide us with reports and insights about our website’s traffic. We recommend you review Google’s Privacy Policy for more details on how Google handles this data.
The information generated by Google Analytics cookies about your use of our site will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers which may be located outside your country. In particular, Google may process and store this information in the United States or other locations where Google maintains data centers. While this information is generally non-personal data, it may be subject to foreign jurisdictions (for example, data stored in the United States might be accessed by U.S. authorities under applicable laws).
Google is a participant in international data transfer frameworks and employs safeguards to protect data, but it's important for you to know that by using our site, you consent to this transfer of information to Google. We rely on Google’s security measures to protect this data in transit and at rest. Google Analytics data is protected by encryption and secure protocols when transmitted.
We do not ourselves transfer any personal data overseas, since we do not collect personal data directly; however, the analytics data (which could include truncated IP addresses and usage info) is stored on Google’s servers abroad as described.
If you are located in a jurisdiction with data protection regulations (for example, the EU or UK), please note that our primary operations are in Australia. We consider the analytics data we collect to be handled in compliance with applicable privacy principles. For instance, under the Australian Privacy Principles, IP addresses and web analytics data are handled with care and transparency (hence this disclosure).
For European users, we base our use of analytics on legitimate interest to improve our service, but we also respect your ability to opt-out (see below). We have taken steps such as IP anonymization to reduce the potential for personal identification. Ultimately, no personally identifying information (like names or contact info) is included in the data that gets transferred via analytics.
Your experience on our site is voluntary, and you have rights and choices regarding tracking:
We will do our best to accommodate any privacy-related requests, even when not legally required, because we respect your privacy as a core principle.
We take security seriously. Although we collect very minimal data, we protect the information that our website and product handle. The Google Analytics data is protected by Google’s security measures – Google safeguards that data on its servers and provides it to us via secure access.
We ensure that any access to Google Analytics reports is restricted to authorized personnel only, and solely for the purposes described in this policy. Our own website is secured via HTTPS encryption, which means any data transmitted (such as analytics data or if you send us a message) is encrypted in transit.
We also keep our systems updated and follow best practices to prevent unauthorized access. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, so while we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Rest assured, due to our privacy-by-design approach of collecting almost no personal data, the risks are inherently limited.
Our website may contain links to third-party websites or resources (for example, a link to an external resource related to farming or technology). If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site. We do not control the content or privacy practices of external sites.
This Privacy Policy applies only to FarmKeeper.au and Keeper v3.0. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit via links from our site, as their data practices may differ.
Our website and product are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since we do not require account sign-up or personal details, it is highly unlikely we would receive data identifying a child.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child may have provided personal information to us (for example, by emailing us), please contact us. We will promptly delete such information from our records if we find it.
By using the site or product, you affirm that you are of an age appropriate to understand this privacy policy (or are using it under supervision).
We will not disclose or share your information with third parties except in a few rare situations:
Even in these cases, since we hold little personal data, we generally wouldn’t have much to disclose. If required, we might share anonymous or aggregated site usage data.
If we are ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information (which at most would be minimal analytics data or contact emails if any) could be transferred to the successor entity under the same privacy commitments.
As noted, FarmKeeper and Keeper v3.0 operate primarily in Australia and New Zealand. If you are using our website or product from outside these countries, be aware that your information (including any analytics data) will be handled as described in this policy and will be transferred to and processed in Australia and in any other country where our third-party service providers (like Google) operate.
This means your information may be subject to privacy laws different from those in your country. Regardless of location, we will protect your privacy as described here. If you are an international user and have questions about how we meet specific regional requirements, please contact us.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. If we make significant changes, we will post a notice on our website or otherwise inform users (for example, via an update note on the site). The “Last updated” date at the top of this policy will always indicate when the latest changes were made.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information. Continued use of our website or product after any changes to the policy constitutes acceptance of those changes.
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or how we handle data, please contact us. We are here to help and value any feedback.
