The Challenge of Security for Farms

When it comes to security for farms, distance is the enemy. It eats fuel, it eats time, and it hides problems until they become disasters. In the bush, your machinery shed is your livelihood. But because it’s often kilometres from the house, it’s also a sitting duck for thieves.

The traditional solution? Expensive satellite alarms or cellular cameras that stop working the moment the thief cuts the power or the 4G signal drops out. Today, proper security for farms requires a different approach—one that doesn't rely on the grid.

The Core Solution: Keeper v3.0

The Keeper v3.0 is a security system built for off-grid Australian farms, operating independently without SIM cards or monthly fees. It uses the license-free 915 MHz ISM band to transmit critical data over 20 kilometres line-of-sight. Best of all, you can install it yourself before your morning smoko is over.

How to Layer Security for Farms

One Monitoring Display can track and manage up to 12 separate Control Units. This allows you to sectorise your farm and build a comprehensive security network:

1. Remote Machinery Sheds

To protect the tractor, the quad, and the tools , mount the magnetic switch on the shed door frame and the magnet on the door itself. When the door opens, the circuit breaks, and the alarm triggers immediately. You don't even need to wire a motion sensor, as the Keeper v3.0 has a built-in PIR sensor (Component 13) on the board itself.

2. Fuel and Diesel Tanks

Fuel theft is rising, and your diesel tank is 15km from the homestead behind a hill. For maximum security for farms, power a Keeper v3.0 Control Unit with a small solar panel. Connect a Door Sensor to the nozzle lockbox and point the built-in PIR Sensor at the approach track.

3. Active Deterrence (Sirens & Lights)

Want to scare them off? You can wire a loud 12V siren to the unit. The Keeper can handle high-current devices up to 50 Amps, so don't be shy with the size of the siren. If the Monitoring Display in your bedroom buzzes, you can remotely trigger Output 1, blasting the siren and scaring off the thieves before they crack the lock.

Why Keeper v3 is the Best Security for Farms

The "Cut" Test & Supercapacitor Backup:

If a professional thief targets your shed, the first thing they do is cut the power. A standard WiFi camera dies instantly. A 4G modem dies instantly. While the system is armed, disconnect the battery wire at the shed (as if a thief cut the power). Thanks to the internal supercapacitor, the unit won't die instantly. It will stay alive for a few minutes—plenty of time to send a "Power Loss" alert to your display. You’ll know they are there, even if they think they’ve disabled the system.

Stealth Mode:

For the first hour, the LED on the unit will flash to show you it's working. After one hour, it enters "Stealth Mode"—the lights turn off and it goes silent. It looks like a dead plastic box, but it’s listening for the slightest movement.

Flexible Power:

The Keeper is incredibly flexible—it accepts anything from 6V to 30V DC. Use an old 12V car battery (this will run the unit for months) or tap into an existing solar gate system.

Take Control of Your Farm's Security

Whether you are securing a machinery shed, monitoring a water level, or checking if the front gate was left open, the Keeper is always watching. Sleep easy tonight. The Keeper is on watch.
